2005 NEW VOICES AWARD CALL FOR ENTRIES
Deadline: Postmarked through October 31, 2007
Eighth annual NEW VOICES AWARD by Lee & Low Books, award-winning publisher of multicultural books for children. The Award will be given for a children's picture book story by a writer of color. The Award winner will receive a cash grant of $1,000 and Lee & Low's standard publication contract, including an advance against royalties. An Honor Award winner will receive a cash grant of $500.

WRITER RESIDENCY PROGRAMS AT THE WILLARD R. ESPY LITERARY FOUNDATION
Writer residency programs in June, and October 2005 for writers who have demonstrated talent and commitment to their careers. Both emerging and established poets, fiction writers, creative non-fictionwriters, playwrights, and screenwriters are eligible. The Foundation's goal is to provide writers with an environment in which they can pursue their work without interruption in the village of Oysterville on the Southwest coast of Washington State.
